How to edit XML documents in Cantonese (粵語)

XMLBlueprint XML Editor supports editing XML in many different languages. Depending on your choice of language and the Windows version you're working on, you may have to install additional software and fonts.

To edit in Cantonese you have to do the following:

  1. Add an Input Method Editor (IME) for Cantonese (Windows XP only).
  2. Install one or more Cantonese fonts.

How to add an Input Method Editor (IME) for Cantonese in Windows XP

To add an Input Method Editor (IME) for Cantonese in Windows XP do the following:

  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options, and then double-click Regional and Language Options.
  2. On the Languages tab, click on the Install files for East Asian Languages check box to ensure that the correct fonts are installed.
  3. Press the Details button to open the Text Services and Input Languages dialog box, and then press the Add... button.
  4. Select Cantonese. In the Keyboard layout/IME list select the IME you want to use when you type Cantonese, and then press the OK button.
  5. Press the OK button to save the language settings, and press the OK button to save the regional settings.

To add an Input Method Editor (IME) for Cantonese in Windows Vista do the following:

  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Clock, Language, and Region, and then double-click Regional and Language Options.
  2. On the Keyboard and Languages tab, press the Change keyboards... button to open the Text Services and Input Languages dialog box, and then press the Add... button.
  3. Open Cantonese and select the IME you want to use when you type Cantonese, and then press the OK button.
  4. Press the OK button to save the language settings, and press the OK button to save the regional settings.
